Between them the merchants sell the highest-Power rod in the game, two of the seven orbs and two 200M skills — none of which is available anywhere else. Everything else on this list stands still and can be found again later.

A full merchant clear costs 700M Cash, so bank before you go hunting. Because the spawn is a 50/50 between the two, expect roughly one hour of real time per specific merchant.

Two islands with no rod seller
The rod seller is on every island except Battlefield Isle and Mistpeak Isle. That is worth knowing before you sail to Mistpeak looking for one — the only thing there is the Mountain Fish and its 5% Mountain Flip drop. See the island map.
