Heavyweight Fishing Quests: Every Reward Chain

The Sage Yijiu chain (Battlefield Isle)

The longest quest line in the game, and the backbone of the endgame. Each quest unlocks the next.

1st — reward: Diamond Rod Catch 5 fish of at least 1.5M kg. The Diamond Rod has no listed Power or Luck; its stated effect is +50% damage to Cloud Ascension skills.

2nd — reward: Phoenix Annihilation Art Own the skill Phoenix Strive Art v2. Catch fish 250 times. Catch a Scarlet Fish of at least 1.5M kg and an Elder Scarlet Fish of at least 1.5M kg. Both Scarlet fish spawn in Thunderstorm on Bamboo Isle.

3rd — reward: Fivefold Ascension Catch a Draconic Koi of at least 2M kg (Amber Isle, Blazing Sun). Own the gate v3 skill. Catch 10 fish of at least 1M kg.

4th — reward: Tenfold Convergence Catch a Rainbow Dragon Fish of at least 6M kg — summoned with Rainbow Bait. Use Fivefold Ascension 50 times.

5th — reward: One Hook Dominance Catch a Frost Kingfish of at least 5M kg and a Frost Queen Fish of at least 6.5M kg. Use Tenfold Convergence 100 times.

The weight requirements climb faster than the skill rewards do, so the real gate on this chain is your rod, not your skill list.

The two rod seller quests

Frost Isle — reward: Cryo Gravity Rod (36 Luck, 65 Power) Catch fish 100 times on Frost Isle. Catch a Primordial Kunfish Overlord of at least 1M kg (x2). Catch 4 Primordial Kunfish.

Coconut Isle — reward: Soul Thorn Rod (19 Luck, 75 Power) Catch a Mutated Koi Whale of at least 1M kg (x3). Catch 5 Warbringer Sharks. Catch 5 Dreadscale Groupers.

Both rods can also simply be bought — 8M and 20M respectively. The quests are the route for players who are Cash-poor but time-rich.

Single-reward NPC quests

Ha Dieu De’s quest is the one most people are hunting when they search for the “heaven gate v3 upgrade NPC”. Note that raising a skill’s damage is a different NPC entirely — Skill Upgrades, who spends Essences.

Daily quests

The Ticket quest giver on Beginning Isle offers a daily easy and a daily hard Ticket quest. These fund banner summons and their difficulty was reduced in the 7/11 update. Daily tasks also pay Gems.
